Frank Matteson, 84, of Macomb, former resident of Vermont, died at 8:25 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 1995 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born Sept. 25, 1910 in Roseville, a son of Warren and Ruth Frymire Matteson. He married Mildred Thomas on Nov. 2, 1940, at Burlington, Iowa. She died on Oct. 6, 1972. He was also preceded in death by two brothers.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Matteson of Vermont and Warren Matteson of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; one daughter, Janice Shank of Vermont; two sisters, Helen Lonteen of Peoria, and Marian Reese of Monmouth; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was a farmer and worked at Butler Manufacturing, Admiral and Gale Manufacturing. He also worked as a janitor at WIU retiring in 1975.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Kost Memorial Home with Rev. Clint Palmer officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery.
