VeteranPierre Marshall Of Macomb Dies

E. Pierre Marshall, 85, of Macomb, formerly of Vermont, died at 8:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 1990, at Wesley Village Health Care Center in Macomb.

He was born Jan. 7, 1905 in Vermont, a son of Robert Emmett and Jessamine Braun Marshall.

He is survived by a niece, Mrs. Phyllis B. Rutledge of Ipava; and a nephew, Robert M. Marshall of rural Ipava.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

He was a former director of the Vermont State Bank and served as Vermont postmaster before retiring. He was a volunteer at the Western Illinois University Museum and also was involved in other WIU cultural activities. A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of Vermont American Legion Post 26, where he was past commander. He also was a member of the Vermont Kiwanis Club. He attended the Vermont Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. Donald Pratt officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of ashes will be in Vermont Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to his church or to Wesley Village Health Care Center.
