THELMA E. (DEWEESE) MASON

Thelma E. Mason Of Macomb Dies

Thelma E. Mason, 62, of rural Macomb, a lifelong resident of McDonough County, died at 8:25 a.m. Sunday, March 4, 1990, in McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born July 5, 1927, in Macomb, a daughter of Noel and Nell (McMillan) DeWeese. She married Davis Eugene Mason Sr., Oct. 2, 1947. He survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Davis Eugene Mason Jr., of Maryland Heights, Mo., David Alan Mason, Christopher Mason and Ricky Mason, all of Macomb, and Timothy Mason of Vermont; eight daughters, Mrs. Pat (Virginia) Lescher, Mrs. Lloyd (Gloria) Smith, Mrs. Joseph (Cynthia) Barnes, Ellen Mason and Nicole Mason, all of Macomb, Brenda Mason of Quincy, and Mrs. Richard (Janet) Foster and Julie Mason, both of Galesburg; 22 grandchildren; one brother Noel DeWeese of Fort Myers, Fla.; and three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Hamilton and Mrs. James (Donna) Ritchey, both of Macomb and Mrs. Giles (Patricia) Cooper of Avon.

Preceding Mrs. Mason in death were two sisters, Betty Amos and Roberta Cramer.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. this afternoon in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Ron Derrig-Green officiating. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to McDonough District Hospital or the McDonough County Cancer Society.
