VeteranLee C. Maynard Dies In Florida

Lee Carter Maynard, 92, of St. Petersburg, Fla., former pastor of the Astoria Christian Church, died Sept. 2, 1985.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Nellie; one son, William E.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers.

One son, Robert L., was killed in 1969 while flying food and medicine into Biafra.

Mr. Maynard served pastorates in Bowen, Colchester, Camp Point, Astoria, Ill., and Angola, Ind. He also had been employed by a bank, served in the Army in World War I and taught school prior to being ordained in 1934 in Bowen.

Since 1964 the Maynards had lived at 321 35th Ave. N., Petersburg, Fla., 33704.

Memorial services were held in St. Petersburg on Sept. 4 in Pearl, Ill., with Joe Rowlett and Don Baker officiating.
