Gaillard R. Murfin, 75, of 135 S. Jackson, Bushnell, died at his home at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 1985.
Born Mar. 13, 1910, in McDonough County to William and Addie Cromer Murfin, he married Wilma Sims Sept. 11, 1935, in Macomb.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Eileen Hendrickson of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Phyllis English of Bushnell; two sons, Virgin T. Murfin of Geneseo and Gary D. Murfin of Table Grove; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are five brothers, Sammy of Macomb, Clarence of Bushnell, Ralph of Payson, Emmet of Lorraine and William of Russellville, Ark. One son, one daughter, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
He formerly worked at the Mickleberry plant. He was a World War II veteran and a 40-year member of Bushnell VFW Post.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Snider officiating. Burial was in Bushnell Cemetery with military rites at graveside.
