VeteranGeorge Miller Dies At Age 64

George W. Miller, 64, of 608 N. Broadway, Lewistown, died at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 1980, in Graham Hospital, Canton.

Mr. Miller was the owner and operator of the Miller Shoe Store of Lewistown. He was a veteran of World War II and of the Korean Conflict, serving in the Army Artillery as a captain. He was a member of the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post No. 1 of which he was past Commander, Lewistown Masonic Lodge No. 104 AF&AM and Lewistown Chamber of Commerce.

He was born Jan. 22, 1916, in Chicago, a son of Charles and Pearl (Solomon) Miller. He married Louise Grove on Oct. 14, 1946 in Jacksonville. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Craig Miller of Lewistown and Cary Miller of Minneapolis, Minn.; three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Shirley Newman of Champaign; and two brothers, Harold of Champaign and Raymond of Waveland, Ind.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Henry Memorial Home with Rabbi Ronald Goss of Peoria officiating. Burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Full military rites were conducted at the grave by the American Legion and V.F.W. Posts.

Memorials may be made to the Lewistown Fire Department Rescue Squad.
