Mrs. Mabel McLaren Of Fairview Dies

Mrs. Mabel McLaren, 90, Fairview, died at 8:40 p.m. Thursday at Graham Hospital where she was admitted Wednesday.

Mrs. McLaren had lived in the Fairview area for the past 70 years.

She was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church and the Sunshine Circle Club.

She was born near Astoria June 18, 1880, to John and Idress (Severens) Stambaugh.

She was married Jan. 1, 1901, to Carl McLaren, who died Dec. 5, 1947.

She is survived by two sons, Harold McLaren of Canton, and Cecil McLaren of Euclid, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Elliott, Fairview; Mrs. Myrtle Joy, Chapin and Mrs. Idress Coleman, California; a brother, Hallie Stambaugh, Astoria; and a sister, Mrs. Effie McLaren, Knoxville.

There also are eight grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Fairview United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gordon Peabody officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
