H. Dalton Miller Dies At Age 83

Homer Dalton Miller, 83, died early Tuesday morning in the Culbertson Hospital in Rushville. He had been in ill health for the past several years. Mr. Miller had been a resident of the Astoria area for the past 35 years.

Born on Feb. 18, 1882, in Lewistown, Ohio, he was a son of David and Charlotte Kolp Miller. In September, 1907, he was married to Alberta Russell who preceded him in death in 1917. On September 1, 1925, he was married to Addie Walton, who survives.

Also surviving are one son, Curtis M. Miller of Coal Valley; two daughters, Mrs. Lola Wittmer of Peoria and Mrs. Ruby Smith of Astoria; seven grandchildren; one sister, Addie Jackson of Clinton; one brother, Ray Miller of Ringold, Ga. One infant daughter, one grandson and five brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Miller had served as an elder in the Church of Christ for many years, first at Secor, Ill., and currently at Browning.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Brother Ollie Trail officiating. Burial will be in Bader Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
