Temple E. Myers Dies Suddenly

Temple E. Myers, 55, operator of the Whiteside County Co-op Locker plant in Tampico, died suddenly last Tuesday evening in Tampico. Death was due to a heart attack.

Mr. Myers was born in Farmington on Sept. 15, 1906, the son of Edward and Etta May Myers. He attended schools in Astoria and Macomb. He was married to Letha Wickert of Canton on April 29, 1926. They moved to Tampico to reside 14 years ago. He operated a grocery store for 10 years and then took over the locker plant in 1956.

He was a member of the Dixon Church of the Brethren, the Tampico Masonic Lodge, AF & AM, the Moline Consistory and the Peoria Shrine.

Survivors are his widow, one son, Larry Myers, postmaster at Tampico; two grandchildren, his father of Dixon; three brothers, Charles of Freeport; Eldon of Dixon, and Gaylen of Denver, Colo. He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Lyle.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in Tampico, with the pastor of the Dixon Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial was in Dixon.

Temple Myers Dies Tuesday

Friends in this area were shocked to receive word Tuesday evening that Temple Myers, former Astoria resident, died that afternoon of an apparent heart attack. Details were not available.

Funeral services will be held at Tampico, Ill., Friday afternoon with burial at Dixon.

An obituary will be printed next week.
