Browning Man Dies In Springfield Hospital

Felix Alton McGinnis, Browning, died Saturday night at the Memorial hospital in Springfield where he had been a patient since Friday morning. He had been taken to Springfield from Schmitt Memorial hospital, Beardstown, where he had been a patient for a week.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the Church of Christ in Browning with the Rev. John Trone in charge. Burial in the Browning cemetery.

Mr. McGinnis was born Nov. 24, 1866 in Kentucky. He was 83 years, 11 months and 10 days old at the time of his death. He had lived in Browning several years.

Surviving besides his wife are seven children, Mrs. Mina Ellen Leary of Peoria, Mrs. Verna Alma Cardwell of Roodhouse; Mrs. Clara Cardwell of Roodhouse, George McGinnis, Virgil McGinnis and Frank McGinnis of Browning, and Edgar McGinnis of Auburn; also thirteen grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
