Death of Mrs. Alice Mercer

IPAVA — Mrs. Alice Mercer died Thursday, Oct. 10 at her country home southwest of Ipava, after an illness of the past two weeks with kidney trouble, altho she has been failing for the past two years. She was 84 years of age.

She was the daughter of William and Maria Stanley Mercer and was the last of a family of eleven children. She was the widow of Rhodes P. Mercer who preceded her in death one year ago.

Surviving are two sons, Clarence and Carl Mercer of near Ipava, one daughter, Mrs. Amy Stewart of Rushville. She was a member of the Friend church. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at her home and burial in the Friend cemetery.
