Arthur Matheny Dies

IPAVA — Arthur Eugene Matheny, died at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Hugh Bunch of Blandinsville, Monday morning, October 13, aged 17 years, 8 months and 18 days.

He was the son of Clarence and Minerva Pickering Matheny and was born at Bernadotte where his mother died some ten years ago, leaving a family of six young children.

Mrs. Bunch and an uncle, Bruce Pickering of Ipava and an aunt, Mrs. Callie Belless of Bernadotte have cared for the orphan children.

Arthur has always been an invalid from heart trouble and complications. The end came suddenly from heart failure. Besides his father he leaves three sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Harper and Mrs. Catharine Voorhees of Galesburg, Doris of Bernadotte and two smaller brothers, Billy and Wayne.

Funeral services for Arthur Matheny, 17 year old youth who died at Blandinsville, Monday, were held Wednesday at Bernadotte. Rev. F. W. Leonard of Blandinsville, in charge, with interment in adjacent cemetery.
