JERRY MONTERASTELLI

Charred Remains Of Farmington Man Found By Firemen

Mystery surrounds the death of an aged Farmington man — Jerry Monterastelli, whose body, burned to a crisp, was found in the remains of his home in that city by firemen who extinguished a blaze which practically destroyed the one story building in which he lived alone, early Monday morning.

The aged man is said to have been in the habit of carrying a considerable sum of money on his person at all times but when the body was found there was no indication of a purse, which he is said to have usually had in his clothing, or other means of determining whether or not he had had money in his clothing at the time the blaze started.

Later — the coroner’s jury returned a verdict of death by suffocation.
