VeteranBringing Bodies Back

The bodies of Boyd Danner and Paul Markley are being brought back for burial and have now arrived in New York, according to information received by relatives here and at Havana, although nothing definite has been learned regarding the time when the bodies will reach home. These young men lost their lives October 6, 1918 when the steamer Otranto sank near the coast of Ireland during a storm.

Body Arrived.

The body of Corp. Paul J. Markley reached Havana yesterday morning and the burial service will be held at Neiver’s undertaking parlors in that city on Sunday, Sept. 5, at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Chap. Phil B. Elsworth and Havana Post No. 138, American Legion. Interment at the Hickory cemetery.

Paul lost his life Oct. 6, 1918, in the sinking of Otranto near the coast of Scotland.
