Samantha Hickle daughter of Aaron and Sarah Hickle was born in Ross County, Ohio, in 1843. She came to this state with her father and mother where they resided near Vermont. She was married to John Mills, Dec. 14th, 1871. To this union were born four children. Wilmer E. Mills, of Rock Island; Aaron H. Mills, of Canton, Ill.; Mrs. Viola Fawcett, of Industry and George A. Mills, of Canton, Ill.
She departed this life at 8:45 p.m. Feb. 20, 1911 at the home in Canton, Ill. She united with the Methodist Church when 14 years of age and lived a christian life the rest of her days.
Her age was 67 years, 7 months, 3 weeks and two days. The remains were brought to Vermont, last Wednesday and the funeral services conducted at the M. E. Church by Rev. H. G. Fouts. Interment in the Vermont cemetery. — Vermont Union.
