MARTHA (CLARK) MUMMA

Martha Mumma

Martha Clark was born in Belmont county, Ohio, July 20, 1845, and died in Astoria Jan. 21, 1903. On January 17, 1865 she was united in marriage to I. N. Mumma. To them were born five children, four boys and one girl. Two boys died in infancy.

She with her husband and family came to Illinois in '81 settling on a farm near Astoria where they lived till four years ago when they moved to Astoria.

She united with the M. E. church at the age of seventeen at Sewalaville, Ohio, and later with the same church at Astoria of which she was still a member when death claimed her. For about four years she has been a constant sufferer. She leaves two sons and one daughter to mourn her loss, her husband having died over a year ago.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church, conducted by the pastor, S. N. Wakefield, on Friday. Interment at Astoria cemetery.

E. church when 17 years old at Sewalaville, Ohio. Later with the same church at Astoria of which she was still a member when death claimed her.

She leaves two sons and a daughter to mourn her loss, her husband having preceded her September 21, 1901.

Her funeral service was held at the M. E. church, conducted by the pastor S. N. Wakefield Jan. 23. Interment at Astoria cemetery.
