LEWISTOWN — The following notice recently appeared in the St. Louis papers:

Died, on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 1900, at 6:00 p.m., Riley P. McCormac, beloved husband of Movado McCormac, and brother of Amos K. McCormac, after a lingering illness, at the age of 58 years. The funeral took place on Thursday, Jan. 4, at 2 o’clock at the family residence, to the Bethania cemetery.

Riley P. McCormac was born Jan. 28, 1842, near Jacksonville, Ill., moved to Mason county when a child and resided near Bath until almost grown. He then went to boating on the river and moved to St. Louis, where he lived until his death. He was the oldest son of Edward and Ruth McCormac. He leaves a wife, two brothers, Amos K., of St. Louis and Milo G., of Ursa, Ill., one sister, Mrs. Dr. M. Cain, of Lewistown, Ill., and a half sister, Jessie McCormac, of California, to mourn his departure.
