Marlin LiversMarlin G. Livers, 85, of Canton died at 10:37 a.m. Feb. 6, 2023, at the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Canton.

He was born Aug. 27, 1937, a son of Gale O. and Hazel R. Weber Livers. He married Betty Ann Trone Stewart on Nov. 2, 2006, in Canton. She survives.

Also surviving are three stepsons, William (and Kimberly) Stewart of Seal Beach, Calif., Joseph (and Sherry) Stewart of Glasford and James Stewart of Brea, Calif.; one sister, Joyce Svob of Canton; and four stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one infant brother.

He was an Army veteran, serving in Germany. He worked at Caterpillar in East Peoria where he retired.

He was a member of the UAW Local #974 of East Peoria and a longtime member of the Gear Jammers Club, Canton, Illinois Chapter.

He volunteered at the Food Pantry at First Baptist Church in Canton for many years.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Matt Haberman officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service time. Burial will be held in the Bader Cemetery.
