Sun Cho “Sue” Lannery

Sun Cho "Sue" LannerySun Cho “Sue” Lannery, 82, of Ipava died at 4:28 p.m. July 5, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born March 26, 1940, in Kyongsang-Bukdo, South Korea, a daughter of Yi Mu Baek and Kim Do Bum. Sue married Gerald “Buck” Lannery on June 21, 1966, in South Korea. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Brian (and Marcie) Lannery and Michael (and Katie Ratcliff) Lannery, both of Ipava; two sisters, Bok Man Nam of Chicago and Hui Kyong Yi of Orem, Utah; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Growing up in South Korea, she worked on her family’s farm where they grew several different crops. When moving to the United States, she was a seamstress and worked at Dana Corporation in Havana, Ken Ray Foundry in Vermont, Canton Manufacturing Garment Foundry in Canton and Zeta in Macomb, throughout her lifetime.

Services were held July 12 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial was in the Ipava Cemetery.
