He was born Nov. 22, 1953, in Avon, a son of Harley G. and Mary Evelyn Thrasher Lafary.
Surviving are his wife, Tina Lantz Lafary of Prairie City; four children, Greg (and Monica) Lafary of Little Swan Lake, Jamie (and Hai) Nguyen of Table Grove, Amanda Robertson (and Keith Lawrence) of Alexander, Ark., and Jeremy (and Hollie) Lafary of Decatur, Ark.; one stepdaughter, Rebecca Peterson (and Brian Colston) of Bushnell; and three siblings, Gary (and Elieen) Lafary of Bushnell, Mike Lafary of Rushville and Sandra McVey of Abingdon.
He spent his working life as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of various clubs over the years, including Mississippi Valley Vintage Race Car Association.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A public visitation was held Tuesday. Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell was in charge of arrangements. A Celebration of Life is planned for the spring of 2022.
