Bob LauderbackRobert Glen “Bob” Lauderback, 71, of Beardstown died at 9:23 p.m. Sept. 7, 2020, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born April 8, 1949, in Beardstown, a son of Glen and Dorothea Louise Schaefer Lauderback. He married Janet Jockisch on June 1, 1969, in Beardstown. She survives.

Also surviving are two children, James (and Schuyler) Lauderback and Julie (and Jim) Cowan, both of Beardstown; one brother, Jack (and Ruth) Lauderback of Loami; one sister, Lisa Lauderback Collison of Kampsville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, J. J. Cowan.

He owned and operated Lauderback Carpet in Beardstown for over 40 years. He also worked for Cline Funeral Home in Beardstown and was the custodian at First National Bank of Beardstown for 16 years.

He graduated from Beardstown High School with the class of 1967.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served his country in the United States Army.

He also was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beardstown.

Private services will be held with burial to follow in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Beardstown. There will be no visitation. The Hendricker Funeral Home in Mount Sterling was in charge of arrangements.
