She was born Feb. 3, 1934, in Madrid, Spain, a daughter of Jose and Petra Munoz Matran. She married Charles Long on Sept. 19, 1959, in Madrid, Spain. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1981.
She also was preceded in death by one brother, Jose Matran.
Surviving are one daughter, Carol (and Joe) Gauwitz of Canton; one brother, Manolo (and Pepita) Matran of Madrid, Spain; one sister, Marisa Caballero of Madrid, Spain; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker. She also worked as a seamstress, babysitter and was a cook.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.
