David LawverDavid W. Lawver, 63, of Lewistown died at 11:50 a.m. March 30, 2018, at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria.

He was born Jan. 2, 1955, in Canton, the son of Leland “Wayne” and Faith Ward Lawver. He married Jill Nolan on Oct. 1, 1977, in Summum. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Brianne (and Michael) Kennedy of Lewistown; and two granddaughters, Madison and Georgia Kennedy of Lewistown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Nancy and Norma.

He graduated from Astoria High School and then from Western Illinois University with a Bachelors in Social Work. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was an investigator for the Department of Children and Family Services.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lewistown and the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Donald Ike Hackett officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with military services conducted by the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1.

Memorials may be made to the family and will be designated by them to the charity of their choice.
