He was born March 20, 1949, in Canton, a son of Robert and Philomena Leonard Lester. He married Deborah Booker on April 16, 1971, in Manchester, N.H. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Scott (and Darla) Lester of Omaha, Neb., Lori (and Aaron Fenn) Lester of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Lisa (and Chris) Leger of Auburn, N.H.; seven siblings, Ellie Toomer of Lewistown, Kay McDaniel of St. Petersburg, Fla., Linda Smith of Lonoke, Ark., Bobbie Parsons of Peoria, Becki (and Bill Wicevich) Lester of Cave Creek, Ariz., Dee (and Steve) Honn of Arthur and Gary (and Christy) Lester of Canton; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and one granddaughter, Adysson Lester.
He worked in security for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy amphibious assault during the Vietnam War.
Funeral services were held Friday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Pastor Eric Sawyer officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with military services conducted by the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and the Lewistown American Legion Post 1.
