Bennie LawrenceBennie Lawrence, 80, of Macomb died at 8:45 p.m. July 8, 2015, at Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb.

He was born Aug. 10, 1934, in Big Flat, Ark., a son of Richard and Lillie Belle Lawrence. He married Rose Lisenbee on Oct. 17, 1955, in Illinois. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2015.

Also preceding him in death were one daughter, Lori Shouse; two brothers, McKinley and Carl Lawrence; and four sisters, Georgia Hoig, Della McKee, Dorothy Stroup and Mildred Ballentine.

Surviving are two daughters, Lydia (and Steve) Bonser of Rushville and Lois (and Harold “Butch”) Pratt of Lewistown; three sons, Randy (and Erma Louise) Lawrence of Bushnell, Kevin (and Paula) Lawrence of Pekin and Bennie R. Lawrence of Macomb; two brothers, Silas (and Nell) Lawrence of Hamilton, Mont., and Darrell (and Chris) Lawrence of Evansville, Wis.; one sister, Lillie Belle McGee of Santa Cruz, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was a farmer, laborer at Gypsun Plant in Wisconsin, worked at Alton Box in Beardstown for 30 years and was a logger.

He was a member of Schuyler County Coon Hunters.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Howard White officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to an education fund for his grandchildren.
