Mildred "Mim" LevertonMildred F. "Mim" Leverton, 88, of Rushville died at 7:35 a.m. March 24, 2012, at Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care in Beardstown.

She was born Jan. 30, 1924, in Mason County, a daughter of James and Elsie Nall Brooks. She married Howard Leverton on Feb. 2, 1942, in Yuma, Ariz. He preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 1990.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, William Brooks; and one sister, Pauline Loeffler.

Surviving are two daughters, Paula (and Robert) Kloker of Arenzville and Penny Powell of Rushville; one sister, Maureen Roberts of Morton; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was a cook for District 150 schools in Peoria, Reservoir and Charter Oaks Schools retiring in 1981.

She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Rushville.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Southern Baptist Church in Rushville with Pastor Mike Hall and Reverend James Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Cooperstown Cemetery. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
