He was born Jan. 2, 1937, in Hillsboro, Mo., the son of Elmer and Clara Newman Leonard. He married JoAnn Buxton on April 24, 1959, in Lewistown. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Rick (and Diane) Leonard of Danvers and Dan Leonard of Cuba; two daughters, Julie Welker of Tulsa, Okla., and Lori (and Bobby) Berg of Cuba; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Randy Leonard.
He was a retired truck driver.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 627 in Peoria.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Pastor Andy Fyffe officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to services. Cremation will be accorded following the services. Inurnment will be in Cuba Cemetery at a later date.
