Gerald LenoverGerald Lenover, 89, of Rushville died at 1 a.m. Jan. 16, 2010, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Jan. 27, 1920, in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, a son of Ross Earl and Sina C. Keown Lenover. He married Doris Ruth Lambert on June 30, 1944, in Mount Sterling. She preceded him in death on Jan. 4, 2008.

He also was preceded in death by one infant sister and one grandson.

Surviving are three sons, Larry Lenover of Rushville, Rick (and Val) Lenover of Virginia and Randy (and Giselle) Lenover of Janesville, Wis.; two daughters, Gearline Bigham of Rushville and Kathy (and Ed) Hartman of Springfield; one brother, Keith (and Norma) Lenover of Canton; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Due to ill health, Gerald was not able to serve in the regular United States Military, but he did serve his country in the armaments industry during World War II.

He was a lifelong farmer and operated a bulldozer.

He was a member of Rushville Flying Club.

Services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Steve Pichaske officiating. Burial was in Palm Cemetery west of Rushville.
