Vera LillieVera M. Demler Lillie, 79, of Cuba died at 4:07 p.m. Jan. 7, 2009, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Holder, a daughter of Lester and Edith Cope Boaz. She married Dewey Demler on Jan. 14, 1950, in Bloomington. He died Feb. 23, 1977. She later married L.F. “Jack” Lillie on May 10, 1980, in Mahomet. He died in September 1999.

She also was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Surviving are her mother of Bloomington; one son, Steve (and Kathy) Demler of Cuba; one daughter, Connie (and Lee) Wise of Cuba; two stepsons, Tom (and Joanne) Lillie of Orefield, Pa., and Sam Lillie of Peoria; one stepdaughter, Lori (and Dave) Hoffman of White Hall, Pa.; one brother, Charles (and Sharon) Boaz of Bloomington; four sisters, Laverne (and Clyde) Alexander of Morton, Phyllis Boaz of Normal, Patty Oesch of Peoria and Linda (and Jerry) Davis of Foley, Ala.; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker, and was of Methodist faith.

Graveside services were held Monday at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. Burial was in East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba was in charge of arrangements.
