Marvin LangeMarvin C. Lange, 85, of Quincy died at 12:26 a.m. July 16, 2008, at Good Samaritan Home in Quincy.

He was born April 30, 1923, in Quincy, a son of Walter H. and Cornelia A. Tiefenbrun Lange. He married Ruth W. Bruenger on Nov. 24, 1951, in Quincy. She died Nov. 28, 2002.

He also was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are one daughter, Susan (and Kurt) Knuf of Quincy; one son, Mark (and Rendy) Lange of Lewistown; one brother, Grant Lange of Palmyra, Mo.; one sister, Elaine (and Bill) Mahon of Davis Junction; and four grandchildren.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He had worked as a machinist at Gardner Denver for several years, then retired in 1985 from Moorman Manufacturing in Quincy with 32 years of service.

He was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church in Quincy. He was a volunteer for meals on wheels.

Services were held Friday at Hanson-Spear Funeral Home, 1535 State St., Quincy, with Rev. Marlin Rempfer officiating. Burial was in Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown was in charge of arrangements.
