George LangelandGeorge B. Langeland, 82, died at 8:20 a.m. May 7, 2008, at Sycamore Healthcare Centre in Quincy.

He was born June 13, 1925, in Worth, a son of Jon and Petronella Boersma Langeland. He married Mary P. Walsh on April 26, 1952, in Chicago. She died Feb. 19, 1977. He later married Olive I. Rohn in Oak Lawn on Dec. 12, 1981. She preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 1994.

He also was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Surviving are one son, Kevin (and Shelly) Langeland of Rushville; one brother, John (and Rikka) Langeland of Worth; and three grandchildren.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was a farmer and worked at March Transport Co. in Chicago until he retired and moved to Rushville.

He was a member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

Services were held Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Frank Shaw officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
