Doris LenoverDoris Ruth Lenover, 81, of Rushville died at 3:25 a.m. Jan. 4, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born May 18, 1926, in Littleton, a daughter of William and Lena Cope Lambert. She married Gerald Lenover on June 30, 1944, in Mount Sterling. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Gearline Bigham of Tellico Plains, Tenn., and Kathy (and Ed) Hartman of Springfield; three sons, Larry Lenover of Rushville, Rick (and Val) Lenover of Virginia and Randy (and Giselle) Lenover of Jamestown, Wis.; two sisters, Pauline Anderson of Des Moines, Iowa, and Irene Lawler of Chico, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, James Campbell Bigham; and two brothers, Earl and Wayne Lambert.

Doris and her husband farmed in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County. She also worked at Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville for 12 years, retiring in 1986.

Services were held Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Mary Arnold officiating. Burial was in Palm Cemetery west of Rushville.
