Edith Lovel

Edith J. Lovel, 77, of Cuba died at 2:40 a.m. Dec. 24, 2007, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born Sept. 15, 1930, in Sardis, Tenn., a daughter of Robert and Allie Austin Perkins. She married Carlton Lovel on Jan. 6, 1946, in Blytheville, Ariz. He died May 14, 1997.

She also was preceded in death by one brother.

Surviving are one daughter, Rebecca (and Mike) Hoke of Pekin; three sons, Paul (and Cindy) Lovel of Peoria, Richard Lovel of Lewistown and Russell Lovel of Cuba; one sister, Oleta (and Bill) Wells of Peoria Heights; one brother, Robert (and Pam) Perkins Jr. of Washington; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She retired from the former Day and Palin IGA in Cuba.

She was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Peoria and attended Cuba Assembly of God Church.

Services were held Friday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Michael Barr officiating.
