Virgie Lancaster

Virgie Watts Lancaster, 88, of Vian, Okla., died Sept. 15, 2007, in Vian.

She was born Jan. 11, 1919, in Sallisaw, Okla., a daughter of General Lee and Ellen Marie Crosson Watts. She married Burl Lancaster on Sept. 9, 1939, in Sallisaw. He died Oct. 9, 1989.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Glenda Danner of Vian; three sisters, Florence Watts, Reba Watts and Trudie Watts; and four brothers, Carl Watts, Ernest Watts and two infant brothers.

Surviving are one sister, Dorothy Greenfield of Shafter, Calif.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Vian Freewill Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian with Rev. Beau Smith officiating. Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw is in charge of arrangements.
