ETHEL E. (HUMPHREY) LOGSDON

Ethel Logsdon

Ethel E. Prpich Logsdon, 71, of Elmwood, died at 12:48 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, at her residence.

She was born May 19, 1928, in Browning, a daughter of William and Marie Belville Humphrey. She married Fred Logsdon Sr. on Aug. 24, 1946, in Peoria. He died Feb. 19, 1970, in Peoria.

She was also preceded in death by one son, James Logsdon, two sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are one daughter, Donna (Robert) Esposito of Elmwood; one son, Fred Jr. (Karen) Logsdon of Elmwood; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Andy Humphrey of Peoria; and three sisters, June Barnett and Emma (Robert) Hamlin, both of Rushville, and Margaret (Gary) Bopp of Astoria.

She was chief cook and a housekeeper for Parc. Prior to that, she owned and operated several Peoria taverns for 30 years, including Ethel’s Place. She also had been a molder for Peoria Plastics.

She was a member of Browning United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel with Rev. Joseph Tomich officiating. Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
