Charles H. Little, 80, of Illinois Veterans Home, Quincy, formerly of Beardstown, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

He was born May 1, 1918, in Beardstown, a son of Charles and Anna Hobrock Little. He married Clara Hamm in July 1941 in Rushville. She survives in Browning.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Tom (Debra) Crowe of Browning, Mrs. David (Doris) West of Crossville, Ala., and Mrs. Harry (Charlene) Waltman of Golden Valley, Ariz.; one son, Charles “Butch” of Richland, Wash.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Eight brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

He was a World War II Army veteran. He worked at Standard Oil in Indiana for 15 years and later for Oscar Meyer in Beardstown until retiring. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Beardstown.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Browning Cemetery near Browning with Rev. Floyd Terry officiating. Calling hours will be after 4 p.m. today at Sager Funeral Home, Beardstown, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Illinois Veterans Home or Blessing Hospitality House.
