Donald Lind

Donald E. Lind, 78, of rural Tremont, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 1997, at 12:30 p.m. at his home.

He was born June 9, 1919, in Astoria, a son of Dorsey H. and Flora (Sullivan) Lind. He married Susan M. Miller on April 8, 1950, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, D. Edwin Lind of Bloomington and John A. Lind of East Dundee; one daughter, Nancy L. Beyer of Midland, Mich.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

An Army Air Force Veteran of World War II, he was a carpenter for 32 years, retiring in 1984 from R.A. Cullinan and Sons, Inc. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local #644 in Pekin and Tremont American Legion Post #1236.

Services were held Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
