GARNET (SEARS) LINDSEY

Garnet Lindsey

Garnet Sears Lindsey, 87, of Vermont, died at 9:19 p.m. Friday, March 29, 1996, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born April 12, 1908, in Bardolph, a daughter of Ross and Annie Foster Sears. She married Mervin Lindsey on Dec. 31, 1948, in Rock Island. He died June 7, 1967. One sister also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two step-daughters, Mary Lou Keer of Macomb and Sharon Lane of Sandwich; two sisters, Florine Sears Hynish of Melbourne, Fla., and Maxine Sears Voigt of Sheldon; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was an Avon representative in Vermont and Astoria for many years. She was a charter member of the Astoria American Legion Auxiliary.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. James Stovall officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Astoria Township.

Memorials may be made to the Vermont Fire Department or to any charity.
