George B. Lancaster, 74, of Beardstown, died at 8:35 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 1995, at his residence.

He was born in Beardstown on March 17, 1921, to George W. and Lillie Drake Lancaster. He married Dorothy J. Lynn on January 31, 1942 in Missouri. She survives.

He was a member of the Browning United Methodist Church, the Cass Masonic Lodge #23 A.F. and A.M., the Elks Lodge of Beardstown, the American Legion of Rushville and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Beardstown. He served in the U.S. Navy from August 1942 to October 1945.

Also surviving are one daughter, Georgia Ann Gordon of Browning; one son, Gary Lancaster of Beardstown; three grandsons; two granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; and one sister, Evelyn Auld of Paramount, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Cline Funeral Home. Interment was in the Cline Perpetual Care Section of the Beardstown City Cemetery.

Military rites were given by the VFW at the cemetery.

The family has requested that memorials be directed to the Cass-Schuyler hospice program.
