VeteranLloyd Lehman

Lloyd Lehman, 97, of Morton, formerly of East Peoria, died at 7:11 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 1995, at Morton Health Care Center.

He was born April 16, 1897, in Fulton County, a son of Anna (Shawgo) Lehman. He married Opal L. Boyd on April 14, 1924, at Sheldons Grove. She died Feb. 22, 1985. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include several nephews, nieces and cousins.

He worked in the automobile industry for 33 years, including 12 years as a partner of the Studebaker dealership in Peoria. He was also owner of Lehman Apple Orchard. He lived in East Peoria for 45 years. He was a charter member of the Tazewell County Old Threshers Association. He built steam engines for the road and ran them in parades. He was also a World War I Navy veteran.

Funeral services were held March 21 at Schmidt-Haller Funeral Parlors with Rev. Robert Herath officiating. Burial was at Fondulac Cemetery.
