Chris Lagemann, 88, Dies In Arizona

Chris Lagemann, 88, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Astoria, died about 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 1980, at the Tucson Medical Center.

He was an Astoria resident from 1934 until 1976 when he went to Tucson to reside with his son. For the past year and a half he had been at the Santa Rosa Convalescent Center at Tucson. He was a retired farmer and carpenter.

Mr. Lagemann was born Sept. 25, 1891 at Eldridge, Iowa, a son of Gustav and Laura Schmidt Lagemann. On Oct. 28, 1919, he was united in marriage to Mamie E. Larsen in Aberdeen, S.D. She preceded him in death on Dec. 10, 1975.

Survivors include one son, Marvin L. Lagemann of 4435 N. Osage Dr., Tucson, Ariz.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard Lagemann of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Lloyd Lagemann of Freeman, S.D.; two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Walvatne of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Mrs. Edna Poquette of Prior Lake, Minn.

He was preceded in death by one son, Gerald, in 1944 and five brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial will be in the Astoria Cemetery.

Friends may call at Shawgo’s from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.
