Dr. Robert Ladd Of Ipava Dies

Dr. Robert Ladd, 81, of Ipava, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 1978, at the Americana Nursing Center in Macomb.

He was born Apr. 12, 1897 in Ipava, a son of Benjamin Franklin and Jessie L. McCaslin Ladd.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

He was a retired physician from the Chicago area where he worked for the Chicago Wesley Memorial Hospital from 1945 to 1969.

He was also a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Ipava American Legion Post 17.

He received his M.D. Degree from Rush Medical School in Chicago in 1927, his M.S. Degree at the University of Illinois in 1931 and studied at the University of Liverpool in Liverpool, England, in 1917.

He also served the AEF base hospital at Navier, France.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home with Rev. Gary Hardesty officiating. Burial was in the Ipava Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Ipava United Presbyterian Church or the Ipava American Legion Post 17.
