James D. Long Of Canton Dies

James D. Long, 76, of 1468 E. Chestnut, Canton, died at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 1975, at his residence.

He was born in Jerseyville Oct. 7, 1898, a son of Frank and Jane Woods Long. He married Helen Farrow in Astoria Dec. 23, 1920. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Betty, at home; and two grandchildren.

One son and one brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Long was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church and the Men’s Club and the Men’s Bible Class of the church. He retired from International Harvester Co. in 1964, where he worked in steel storage.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home in Canton with Rev. Richard Adair officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
