Death of Carroll E. Lindsey

Mrs. Ora Lacey and Mrs. Eliza Gray received the word of the death of their brother, Carroll E. Lindsey which occurred Jan. 5th at his home in Lakeland, Florida. Mr. Lindsey was born October 12, 1882 near Ipava, a son of Nathan and Amelia Lindsey. He was married to Miss Hazel Haist of Table Grove who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marcia Burhans of Lakeland, two brothers, Harold Lindsey of Peoria and Howard of Enid, Okla., two sisters, Mrs. Lacey and Mrs. Gray of Ipava.

Mr. Lindsey went to Lakeland in 1925 and became a prominent citrus processing executive. He was a former president of the National Canners association, serving in that office for two consecutive terms during World War II. He also served two terms as president of the Florida Canners association from 1935 to 1939. At the time of his death he was president and general manager of the Lakeland Highlands Canning Co., Inc., of Highland City, Fla.
