Former Leeseburg Blacksmith Dies In Nashville, Pa.

Word has reached here from Nashville, Pa., of the death of Frank Leese. His death occurred April 26 at the home of his son, Allen Leese, with whom he had been living for the past five years. Death followed an illness of about two weeks and was caused by yellow jaundice.

The deceased was born in York County, Pa., Sept. 14, 1847. At the time of his death he was aged 82 years, 7 months and 12 days.

He came to Illinois from Spring Grove, Pa., in 1880 and created a blacksmith shop in Leeseburg where he continued in the blacksmith business for forty-six years. About five years ago he sold out to Wm. McLean, who operates the shop.

He is survived by his son, Allen, one daughter, Mrs. Lulu Brugeman, York; two brothers, William and John Leese, York; one sister, Mrs. Samuel Stambaugh, near Hanover; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at 9:30 o’clock Tuesday morning with brief services at the house. Further services and interment was held at Christ Lutheran church, Jackson township, where the deceased attended.

Mr. Leese had many friends here who will regret to learn of his death.
