Sandra KendrickSandra Ann Kendrick, 77, of Quincy died at 8:50 p.m. Jan. 9, 2021, at her Curtis Creek Retirement home, 823 S. 36th Street.

She was born Aug. 5, 1943, in Quincy, a daughter of Wayne and Clara Emily Flesner White of LaPrairie. She married Lonnie Kendrick on Aug. 29, 1964, in Bowen. He preceded her in death.

She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Claire, David and Leon White.

Surviving are two sons, Doug of Stansbury Park, Utah, and Nathan of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, Keith (and Bettie) White of Augusta and John (and Janice) White of Baylis; three sisters, Shirley Jean (and Mike) Kelly of Huntsville, Diana (and Jerry) Alexander of Quincy and Arlis (and Randy) DeJaynes of Forsythe; and three grandchildren.

She graduated from Augusta High School in 1961 and from Blessing Hospital School of Nursing in 1964. She was the church organist at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bowen while in high school.

As a Registered Nurse, she was dedicated to helping the sick and handicapped. Her work in the early years of nursing was at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb. Specialty training was completed at Minneapolis, Minn., hospitals.

She and Lonnie resided at their home west of Good Hope for several years before moving to a farm home several miles north of Good Hope while she was employed as the chief administrator of the Rosewood Care Nursing Home in Galesburg, until her retirement in 2007.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 13 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Macomb. Because of the COVID pandemic, bring a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines if you wish to attend. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements. A Celebration of Life service will be held in June.

Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association or Blessing Hospice.
