Sam KonjevichSam Konjevich, 84, of Rushville, formerly of Channahon, died at 4:20 p.m. Oct. 17, 2019, at his home.

He was born Feb. 1, 1935, in Joliet, a son of Milos and Martha Vracar Konjevich Sr. He married Barbara Fraker on Aug. 9, 1959, in Will County. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Sherrie (and Tom III) Kanik of Jerico Springs, Mo., Samantha (and Pete) Kavvadas of Orland Park and Sarah (and Bryan) Matteson of Rushville; four sisters, Mary Book of Joliet, Mildred (and Glenn) Zaloudek of Homer Glen, Sophie (and Charles) Anderson of Channahon and Natalie (and Wayne) Suyenaga of Washington, DC; four brothers, Peter (and Mavis) Konjevich of Scottsdale, Ariz., Milos (and Bonnie) Konjevich Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Draza Konjevich of Channahon and John Konjevich of Anchorage, Alaska; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Milan, Nickolas Konjevich and Danny Konjevich.

He served in the United States Army and later the Army Reserves. He was a truck driver for Homewood Beverage, a Budweiser Distributor for 23 years. He later drove for ROW for 10 years retiring in 1996. In 2007, he and his wife moved to Rushville.

He was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church. He also was a member of the Teamsters.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at his church with Fathers Ned Lunich and Aleksander Bugarin as celebrants. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
