M. Joan KilpatrickM. Joan Kilpatrick, 85, of Rushville died at 10:20 a.m. June 19, 2015, at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born Jan. 3, 1930, in Bloomington, the daughter of Robert G. and Lucille F. Laffey Pierce. She married Samuel Richard Kilpatrick on July 27, 1947. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1974.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, Dr. Robert H. Pierce.

Surviving are three sons, Samuel James “Jim” (and Gail) Kilpatrick of Las Vegas, David Allen (and Becky) Kilpatrick of Rushville and Dr. Rodney Lee (and Jan) Kilpatrick of Custer, Mich.; one daughter, Connie Jo Beglinger of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.

She first worked at Schuyler State Bank in Rushville. She worked at Moreland and Devitt Drug Store and as an account executive for Schuyler Brown Savings and Loan and Peoples Bank of Quincy, both in Rushville, the El Paso Antique Mall and as a hostess at Hardees in El Paso.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in El Paso and a volunteer at Heritage Manor in El Paso.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rushville.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Jason Triplett officiating. Burial will be in the Old Union Cemetery near Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or the Culbertson Memorial Hospital Foundation.
