Joyce KorthJoyce Sharon Korth, 71, of Bath died at 3:07 p.m. June 26, 2014, at her home.

She was born Jan. 28, 1943, in Peoria, the daughter of Fred and Wanda Hamm Miller.

Surviving are her mother of Havana; one son, Scott (and fiancée Pamela Waggoner) Plate of Chatham; two daughters, Teena (and Bill) Groves of Springfield and Kandi Lightner of Santa Monica, Calif.; two brothers, Dick (and Connie) Miller of Rushville and Pete (and Pam) Miller of Lewistown; four grandchildren; eight extended grandchildren; and longtime companion, John Parker of Mount Sterling.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Tim Miller.

She had owned The Brick in Bath for many years and previously owned and operated Hi-Fashion Salon in Havana. She was active in her community with different volunteer service projects and was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever and VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sheldons Grove Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held afterwards at The Brick in Bath. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to her family or to SIU School of Medicine.
