Bernard Kepple

Bernard Ray Kepple, 95, of Bardolph died at 1:35 p.m. Sept. 16, 2010, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born April 6, 1915, in Bardolph, the son of Robert Ray and Hallie McElroy Kepple. He married Margaret Ann Danner on April 11, 1936. She preceded him in death.

He also was preceded in death by one grandson, Christopher.

Surviving are four sons, Dorman (and Margaret) of Nashville, Tenn., Meredith (and Lucille) of Vermont, Thurman (and Beverly) and Allen (and Linda), both of rural Macomb; one daughter, Tana (and Michael) Eaves of Minneapolis, Minn.; and 15 grandchildren.

He lived in Bardolph his entire life. He wintered in Florida for several years.

While in Florida, he worked in shipyards, gas stations and a dairy. He also worked at King Seeley Thermos in Macomb for several years as well as farmed and had a dairy farm.

After the youngest boys got old enough to take over the milking operation he was an over-the-road truck driver.

He attended Assembly of God Church in Macomb and Bushnell.

He moved to Heartland Healthcare Center in December of 2009.

Graveside services were held Monday at Bardolph Cemetery with Pastor Jon Keck officiating. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Healthcare Center, Macomb Assembly of God Church or Bushnell Assembly of God Church.
